I recently stayed at this luxurious 4-star hotel and had a truly amazing experience. The location of this place is simply breathtaking - it is nestled right next to a beautiful woodland. I loved being able to step out of the hotel and immediately immerse myself in nature. The proximity to the adjacent national park allowed for fantastic walks and explorations. It was an absolute dream for someone like me who loves nature and outdoor activities.
I highly recommend this place to family and friends. It was a fantastic experience overall, and I have nothing but positive things to say about it.

This is the forth or fifth time we stay at this hotel always one night only to go to the Moto gp in Assen. Always friendly staff, good food, nice terrace. The hotel in located near the motorway only +- 10 km from the circuit. We are thinking about it to stay 2 nights next year. Good parking possibilities.

We had a room which faced the woods and was very quite. The room was large, air-conditioned and very pleasant. However, we had some freinds staying at the same time and their rooms faced the road and were noisey. The food was very good.

Very easy access from the motorway, and I had a nice garden room with chairs outside.
Very much your typical chain hotel. Everything's there and well organised, but hugely impersonal and was also very pricey.

This charming hotel is nicely located close to a national park, perfect for a holiday break of walking, cycling or touring. Guests can enjoy the peaceful and quiet surroundings of nature. the rooms are spacious, containing comfortable beds and clean bathrooms, with options for a balcony or an air conditioning unit. Breakfast offers a plethora of delicious options and the restaurant serves quality meals at a reasonable price. the staff is friendly and helpful, making the stay feel welcoming.
Some aspects of this hotel may be a bit outdated and overpriced, so be aware of the room rates and amenities provided.

Spaciousness, well laid out, comfortable, relaxed, large bathroom, with lots of rooms for 'womens' stuff in the 'comfort rooms'. The rooms were immaculate. We were fortunate enough to have rooms on the park side and not the motorway side. Maybe it would have been different then in terms of noise. Our experience with two young girls 11 and 9, including Oma was very relaxed and we felt yeah - very comfortable indeed. We had dinner for one night and we all found it reasonably priced for what we ordered - not too pricey - childrens meals were okay, nothing special, but satisfactory. They ate most of their meals, which is a good sign as they are fussy eaters. I thoroughly enjoyed my vegetarian dinner of spring rolls and deep fried mushrooms. Breakfast was also excellent. If this hotel went fully biological we would use it more often. Staff were pleasant and professional.
NOT really a complaint: But we booked through Booked.net for 2 comfort rooms at 85.00 per night, but were charged 30 euros extra because they raised the prices of the rooms that day. But they quickly without further ado rectified it immediately when they rechecked it for us.

Nice and clean
It is really noisy, single window next to the road. It is quite surprising for the general quality of the hotel

Absolutely loved the beautiful surroundings and the peaceful atmosphere around the hotel. the staff were incredibly helpful and kind, always going above and beyond to make our romantic escape extra special. We appreciated the spacious and well-equipped rooms, with comfortable beds and clean bathrooms. the pool was a delightful addition to our stay, offering a refreshing dip after a long day of exploring the nearby national park. Plus, the free parking was a definite bonus!
The restaurant had limited vegetarian options and prices were on the higher end. We struggled a bit to find some public transportation options nearby to explore further out, but luckily the hotel was located in a central area with plenty of parks and trails to wander through.

The hotel is located just off the motorway, but it's very peaceful and surrounded by a forested park. The dinner at the restaurant is great, and the swimming pool is fantastic.
The room was a bit noisy, and the service at the restaurant was somewhat disorganized, with slow drink service and confused staff.

Stunning view from the balcony
During my recent stay at Van Der Valk, I had the pleasure of staying in a "comfort" room with a balcony. The view from the balcony was absolutely breathtaking. I spent hours enjoying the peaceful surroundings and taking in the beauty of the nearby National Park "Dwingelderveld". It was the perfect spot to relax and unwind after a day of exploring.
Although the hotel is close to the motorway, it surprisingly quiet, allowing for a peaceful night's sleep. The ample parking was also appreciated, making it easy to arrive and depart with ease.
